Half of the moves we run out of Charlotte end in South Carolina, which makes them federal. The other half stay in North Carolina and answer to the state. The two are priced, measured and documented differently, and no reputable quote hides which one you are getting.

Charlotte sits on the line
Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Indian Land and Lake Wylie are all in York County, South Carolina. A fifteen mile move into any of them is an interstate move and gets interstate paperwork, a weight ticket and a spread.
One move, one rulebook
There is no mixing. If the destination is over the line, the whole shipment runs under the federal rules from the first carton, even the part of the drive that happens in North Carolina.
Who is allowed to quote you
Ask any Charlotte mover for the number they are quoting under. Intrastate work needs the NCUC certificate; interstate work needs active USDOT and MC authority. A company holding only one of them cannot legally do the other.
